Generate a mnemonic with a D8 die
This method uses a single eight-sided die. Each roll provides three bits, so four rolls provide 12 bits; retain the first 11 bits for each provisional word. Repeat for 12 or 24 words, then follow the final-word procedure.
Roll the die four times, using this conversion table:
| Result | Bits |
|---|---|
| 1 | 000 |
| 2 | 001 |
| 3 | 010 |
| 4 | 011 |
| 5 | 100 |
| 6 | 101 |
| 7 | 110 |
| 8 | 111 |
After four rolls, retain only the leftmost 11 bits and discard the final bit.
Use the binary words table to match the resulting 11-bit value to a BIP-39 word.
